Background to the Society
Established in 1968 by a group of parents, the Scottish Society for Autism is an independent Scottish charity committed to working for the rights and quality of life of people with autism.
With a head office in Alloa and over 700 staff working across Scotland, the Society offers a range of support for people with autism including education, day care, supported living, vocational opportunities, respite and outreach. Currently over 400 people with autism in Scotland are supported by the Society. For people working in this field or families affected by autism, we are at the forefront of training and offer a comprehensive advisory service.
