Our Aims

At New Struan School we aim to:

  • Ensure that every young person is able to participate fully in a learning
    community which promotes equality of opportunity and seeks to protect
    against all forms of individual and institutional discrimination.
  • Provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment in which each young
    person is given full educational opportunities to develop his/her ability to
    become a happy, participating member of their family, school and
    community.
  • Respect the individuality of each young person and enable him/her to
    achieve to his/her full potential.
  • Promote an environment which provides purpose, meaning and
    understanding for each young person and which encourages
    independence and autonomy.
  • Provide a structured approach to learning which enables young people
    with autism to feel safe in the knowledge that their environment will be
    consistent.
  • Provide residential care delivered in a warm, happy and supportive
    environment.
  • Provide a service which is created in partnership with parents/carers and
    local authority purchasers.
  • Recruit and maintain a qualified and well trained staff team to deliver
    the service.
  • Establish and maintain strong and supportive links with parents/carers to
    enable the needs of each young person to be met through a collaborative approach.
  • Maintain a fully accredited service which meets Registration and
    statutory obligations.
